From My First Website to My New Relaunch: A Lesson in Messy Beginnings
If you’ve been with me for any length of time, then you know the importance I place on celebrating wins and successes. So much of the change that we work on in our lives happens behind the scenes. So, when a change does manifest in a way that can be shared with others, it’s important to acknowledge it—not only for yourself, but for what others might be able to learn from your journey.
That’s why I want to dedicate an entire blog post to the relaunch of my new website, nancylevin.com.
This new site isn’t just the culmination of my own work with realignment and transformation; it’s also a valuable reminder of the magic of messy beginnings and the power that comes when we can release our ideas of perfectionism.
Are you ready to travel back in time with me?
From humble beginnings
When I first started out in my coaching business, I didn’t have a lot. I had no team, no mailing list, and no budget for professional website design services.
What I did have was a Mac, a template-based website builder called iWeb, and my own determination to bring the change I sought into my life.
I can say (from a place of self-love) that my first website was terrible. Too many fonts and colors made it look exactly like what it was: a DIY website created by someone who didn’t really know what they were doing.
But guess what? That first website did what I needed it to. It shared my story and my offerings, and it invited people to connect with me.
It got me started.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t stepped outside of my comfort zone and put myself out there even before I felt like I was ready.
So many of us are afraid to start on a new journey because we feel we need to be perfect from the beginning. We have this false belief that we should have all the answers, do all the right things, and look like a seasoned professional from day one.
This couldn’t be further from the truth—and my very first website is a testament to that.
The power of growth
Years later—and after a lot of hard work and growth, both personally and professionally—this iteration of my website is my fifth.
In the spirit of constant calibration and realignment, the new site reflects the most current vision I have for my life and my business. However, as you might have guessed, it’s about so much more than that.
I wanted to show you where I started and where I am now not only to celebrate, but so you can see for yourself the amazing things that can come when you embrace your potential and believe in your own power.
Whether you’re looking to make a small shift in your life or you want to move mountains, the most important thing you can do is this: keep your vision in sight as you take action, but let go of perfectionism as you embrace where you are and where you’re headed..
Every single step you take toward your vision is a triumph. Even a foggy vision will get clearer the closer you move to it. You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t even need to be able to predict where you’ll end up. You just need to move. Adapt and change as you go, and trust yourself to figure things out.
I did, and look where I am now!
So wherever you are on your own journey right now, I invite you to take that next step, whatever it is, and I hope you’ll join me in mine.
