Who have you molded yourself to be in order to be liked by others?
What “masks” have you worn to win approval – but that have ultimately cost your happiness?
My guest today, world-renowned speaker, bestselling author and coach, Darryll Stinson, learned at an early age that to be accepted by the African American community he grew up in – he needed to become someone he wasn’t.
Being academically gifted attracted bullying and rejection from his peers.
So he adopted an identity to be accepted – one that ultimately threatened his life.
A sports injury that led to an opioid addiction, numerous suicide attempts and a stint in a psychiatric unit were the catalysts that led Darryll to truly embracing self-care and learning to love and accept himself.
Today he impacts millions with his TedEX talks, corporate speaking, books and coaching.
If you’ve outgrown the mold you’ve worn to be liked by others and are ready for the first steps to embracing self-care, changing your life and having a greater impact on others – this episode is for you.
