Nancy: Welcome back to another episode of the Nancy Levin show. Today, I’m continuing to share the meditations that accompany my latest book, Embrace Your Shadow to Find Your Light. In episode 173, I shared the awareness meditation. In episode 175, I shared the surrender meditation. And here today, I’m sharing the responsibility meditation with you.

And In the Responsibility Meditation, what we’re doing is offering forgiveness to the parts of ourselves that we have been denying, repressing, and rejecting. And so I hope you will take a few moments,  let yourself settle in, close your eyes, take some nice deep breaths, and allow yourself to experience the gift of this meditation.

If you want more of where this is coming from, you can grab your copy of “Embrace Your Shadow to Find Your Light.” In the book, there are QR codes to access all of these meditations I created, one for each alchemical stage of shadow work. So, without further ado, we will move on to the responsibility meditation, and I’ll be back with you again next week.

Onto the meditation for stage three: responsibility of embrace your shadow to find your light.  I’m Nancy Levin, and it’s my honor to guide you. Begin by finding a comfortable seat or lying down, close your eyes gently, take a deep breath in, filling your lungs completely, and then exhale slowly. Allow yourself to feel the support beneath you, and know that in this moment, you are safe and secure.

As you continue to breathe deeply, bring your awareness to your heart and enter the cave of your shadows within. Today, your cave is filled with a low, warm light. Find your meditation cushion and take your seat.

With your next breath. Gently allow whatever it is you most need to forgive yourself for to arise. Keep breathing as it shows itself to you. Now, let the shadow quality it represents reveal itself to you.

Simply acknowledge this part of yourself without judgment or criticism. Just observe as you hold this part of yourself in your awareness.  Let yourself feel whatever emotions are present. You may feel sadness, anger, regret, or even relief.

Allow these feelings to flow through you without resistance.

Remember, emotions are like waves.  They come and go.

Now, gently ask this disowned part of yourself. What it needs from you is to listen with an open heart. It might need your understanding, compassion, acceptance,

Whatever it is, affirm to yourself that you are capable of meeting this need. Imagine now that you are extending forgiveness to this part of yourself. Visualize the warm light from your cave, illuminating this part of you—soothing it and healing it.

Silently say to this part of you, I forgive and accept you. You are a valuable part of me.

As you offer forgiveness, notice any shifts in your body or emotions. You might feel a sense of release, lightening, or softening within. This is the healing balm of forgiveness at work.

Next, make a conscious choice to align your actions with your deepest values so you can move toward empowerment and self-connection,

Take a few more deep breaths. With each exhale, imagine releasing any remaining tension, resistance, shame, or guilt. Feel yourself becoming more centered or connected to who you truly are.

As this meditation comes to a close, gently wiggle your fingers and toes. When you’re ready,  open your eyes— returning to the present moment with a renewed sense of peace and self-compassion.

Carry this feeling of self-forgiveness and self-love with you as you move through your day.  Remember, the journey of self-forgiveness is ongoing and each step you take is a step toward a more empowered and authentic you.
